In any multi-level shopping district, campus or facility, a common challenge is how to connect the multiple levels visually while also bringing beauty to the functionally necessary elevators and steps connecting the levels. Westfield UTC in La Jolla elegantly solves this challenge by taking a cue from the sea. The “Pearl Cove” uses a custom cabling system to give the effect of mirror-finished stainless steel “bubbles” rising from the ocean floor to the air above — connecting the floor of Westfield UTC to the open sky above.Role
